The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands who jointly exercise certain pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful of the United States. The purpose of the Conference is to promote the greater good which the Church offers humankind, especially through forms and programs of the apostolate fittingly adapted to the circumstances of time and place. This purpose is drawn from the universal law of the Church and applies to the episcopal conferences which are established all over the world for the same purpose.

Bishop Perry just says it like it is. Illuminating and inviting us to be our better selves as a Church and a nation. Grace can make this happen, yes?
Dear father please will you help for my education purpose tried all the possible ways and done with everything Now only Jesus should help me
Pope Martin V authorized a crusade against Africa in 1418 and this coupled with a later bull (1441) sanctioned the Portuguese trade in African slaves. Ten black African slaves were presented to Martin in 1441 by Prince Henry of Portugal. By 1444, a ‘cargo’ of 235 enslaved Africans had been brought to Lagos in Portugal. The Portuguese were using enslaved Africans on sugar plantations in Madeira, a Portuguese island off the west coast of Africa, by 1460. They built the first slave fort in 1481, on the coast of modern Ghana. This was Elmina Castle, the headquarters of the Portuguese slave traders. In the early 17th century, Portugal was a major trader in enslaved Africans. At this time, it held the asiento, or contract, to supply the Spanish colonies with slaves. This meant that as well as buying their own slaves, the Portuguese were buying slaves for Spanish owned plantations. This added to the overall number of slaves which Portuguese ships carried. Records show the total figure to be 4,650,000 enslaved Africans. On the 18th June 1452, Pope Nicholas V, issues the Papal Bull Dum Diversas, it authorised Alfonso V of Portugal to reduce any “Saracens (Muslims) and pagans and any other unbelievers” to perpetual slavery. This formally legitimized the Portuguese slave trade from West Africa, so serving as a major origin point of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. This Papal bull along with the doctrine of discovery and Berlin Scramble for Africa (it was Portugal that called for The Berlin Conference of 1885) which set off the basis of mass genocide, colonialism, destruction, theft of lands, apartheid, racism, segregated, racial inequality for tens of millions of people maybe more, with people still stigmatised, racially abused, police brutalised and mass incarcerated as a result. We also find the following: 1.) No direct admission of guilt, complicity, the foundational role played or the authorization given for the slave trade under the Roman Catholic Church - as given in various Papal Bulls. No condemnation of the blessings and approval for this until 2023, BUT NOT DIRECTLY FOR AFRICANS IN THE SLAVE TRADE! 2.) No papal accountability and reflection on the error of the Roman Catholic Church in assigning the Pope to have Papal Supremacy supposedly over the whole of Christendom - so as such that he was considered the supreme authority - as such to be unchallenged by such papal decrees. 3.) No wider acknowledgment of the wider damage, racial oppression, loss of identity and groups generated as religious lost identity cults like the Hebrew Israelites or the dehumanization and degradation caused and inflicted on the black race. 4.) No understanding of the mindset influenced and birthed for racists, especially those with power like Kings, who would in turn influence or perpetuate such attitudes and mindsets within the subjects of their kingdoms. In 1455, Pope Nicholas V gave Portugal the rights to continue the slave trade in West Africa, under the provision that they convert all people who are enslaved. The Portuguese soon expanded their trade along the whole west coast of Africa. Henry the Navigator held the monopoly on all expeditions to Africa granted by the crown until his death in 1460. The authority to write such a Papal Bull came out of the Papal claim and doctrine of 'Papal Supremacy', the Supreme Pontiff claim and a claim to 'Apostolic Succession', which we don't find Biblically, rather it is contrived by clever semantics, eisegesis and fallacious appeals in faulty hermeunetics. Flee Catholicism and understand what the Papacy caused as a false prophet from Matthew ch 24, Hebrews 9 v 27 & John 3 v 16. ...These false doctrines or titkes emanate from or are endorsed by The Catholic Church: * The Vicar of Christ...A God title affixed * The Primacy of Rome * Apostolic Succession and Sacred Tradition claims * Supreme Pontiff (Universal Bishop). Outside of that in further falsehood for me you then have: * The Immaculate Conception * Mary's Perpetual Virginity * Marian dogma - Two Papal Infallibility Statements * Marian Apparitions * Purgatory (Sale of indulgences led to the Reformation) * Eucharist Transubstantiaton * Infant Baptism * Priesthood Celibacy * Veneration of saints and sacred images. FLEE CATHOLICISM READ THE FIVE SOLAE
This is good to hear
To Bishop Perry: As a member of Holy Cross Catholic Parish in Durham, North Carolina, the only predominantly African American Parish left in the State, it is fitting that your video brings the message of Juneteenth to us. We have for 85 years fought racism on every front including the catholic church. Sometimes we feel as if we are fighting harder today than yesterday because so many of us have forgotten, or do not know that the vestiges of slavery and racism continue to exist in our everyday lives. Bishops and Priests like you bringing us messages such as you have in this video are what will make the difference for so many who are trying to navigate the murky waters of racism in an even murkier democratic society. Hopefully, your message will reach those brothers and sisters of other cultures who see themselves as invisible and untouchable by racism. Thank you, Bishop Perry, and God Bless.
I thank you for your message. We need to hear it and to heed it❤
@SharonBraxtonBaker, Our Lady of Consolation is also a black Catholic Church, located in Charlotte.
@@wendycutting823 Thank you for that information.
Bishop, we are with you in fighting to eradicate the sin of racism ... beginning with racism in our own church ... through prayer, encounter and action. 🙏
Well said.
Thanks you Bishop.
Bro. Ansel-Living in the power of prayer.
Juneteenth is a fake holiday made up by race hustlers.
We need to start judging blck people by the same standard we judge wht people. We need the blk people to do better.
I am all for celebrating history and remembering the past, but what if we tried a new approach: What if we stopped talking about and thinking about race? What if we stopped segregating and categorizing people by the color of their skin? It’s been almost 175 years since slavery ended. Isn’t it time we looked at each other as equals? Why do you still say we have "Black businesses" and "Black churches"? Do we also have "White businesses" and "White churches"? The whole idea of race is repugnant, unnecessary, and backfires on our society in 2024.
I'm sorry to say, but this is actually an old approach that has caused more harm than good. Despite the want and need for a society that treats African Americans as equals, in most places, this does not happen, and despite it being 159 years later, those of African Ancestry still struggle at the very least to be feel welcomed in communities, which includes many in our Catholic Church. Skin color and bias does not simply go away by ignoring it and there are those who continue to use it skin color for a reason of hate, not love. Like many of our societal problems, we must reflect on our own issues, work to correct them, and help others to do the same. For the more extreme cases where we continue to see hatred in the hearts, we continue to pray and work towards the conversion of heart. Instead of responding to me and complaining about why we talk about race, I challenge you to reflect on the dignity of those who have and continue to be affected by racism, educate yourself on what the issues are and work to do something about. Be blessed 🙏🏿
@@rudyd7447 Rudy, are you saying you would not welcome a response from me?
One of the oddest attitudes offered by some Christian believers is the idea that we should ignore the wonderful gift gave humanity of color, if different skin tones, and multiple cultures. So when someone says we should ignore color or skin color, they are saying we should ignore what God made - acknowledgment of different skin colors is a mistake and God messed up. I love the variety of God’s creation - it is good.
I whole heartedly agree with you tommy. Everything in this country is about race. It's not the validity of what was said, but the skin color and sex of the one who said it. It's completely asinine and irrelevant.
Thank you for encouraging our children ❤❤

Increíble que aún crean en una biblia o un dios
This was very well done thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Well I've never heard the first commandment described this way in a nutshell or tie to vocation discernment. But you know what, that makes sense.
Wonderful explanation with a wonderful example and walk through.
This is excellent thought
Does anyone in the USCCB condemn Zelensky banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church? No, that's not worth discussing is it? There are legitimate issues on both sides but the fact this is not THE main discussion among the USCCB regarding Zelensky and Ukraine clarifies the cowardice of the body of US Bishops. Corrupt or wicked Bishops have been the bane of the Church from the the second century forward. Virtually every heresy was sponsored by a prominent Bishop. God's Grace will keep His Church safe but it's not going to be easy with so many wolves in sheep's clothing wearing mitres.
Please stop supporting Zelensky, the actor with his pornographic skits at the piano. Please always state clearly that we help all people but do NOT support his closing Orthodox churches or censoring the press. Please pray against his diabolical agenda.
I'm a monk I want study English Help me please
Hey, your video CST 101: Option for the Poor and Vulnerable makes no sense. It was the most incoherent video I have ever watched. It's like you just put some inspiring words and put some music over it and called it a day.
STOP DRUGGING AND RAPING PEOPLE AND ANIMALS. Get consent. Grow up.
“White washed tombs”
What was your “nighty night baby” tweet all about a few years ago your Eminence Cardinal Tobin? Why do you allow satanic music on the Catholic university radio station of Seton Hall, pirate radio? Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us.
Did you really end by dunking on St Luke as a sexist?
Wonderful insight. The son of God has given us the most benevolent, most elegant social philosophy and spiritual renewal in history.
Very enlightening Thank you
Very enlightening! Thank you!
Thank you for this informative lecture, sister!
It stays🙏the lord's blessing
Bishops need to ask a cannon lawyer if racism is a life issue..it's not of the same moral order
There is NO difference between the modern Democrat Party and the modern Roman Catholic Church - both of them are hustlers of racism who hate Conservatives.

Our Lady of the Rosary, please heal my heart and soul...
Francis has abandoned us Catholics. Pray for the his conversion to the Catholic faith.
An urgent message for the US Bishops, Cardinal, Priests and laity. We are not in a plight of Biden vs. Trump that equates to evil vs. good. The Communist regime is in the end stages of the world takeover. Our Lady did not promise we would be spared the chastisement. The regime is infiltrated into every government worldwide and into the Catholic Church to the highest levels. Our nation will face the justice of God for the millions of babies killed. And, now, Trump is promoting medical treatment be developed by the millions of doses that are made with fetal tissue of aborted babies. No one can vote for either Biden or Trump without the violation of conscience and violation of Church teaching . We need to pray the Rosary because Our Lady will help all who pray it. The Faith in the US is deeply fallen. We need to pray for our nation. And, for the Bishops who many have turned a blind eye to the Communism within our own government and our own Church. The Bishops are not speaking out the truth about the peril we are all in. Sure. We should pray for China. But, the USA is deep in the mud with the Communist regime and even the elect have been deceived. The takeover is coming. If we want help, we must do what Our Lady asks and stop offending the Lord. Our Bishops have done little. They need to begin processions nationwide bringing the Blessed Sacrament to every abortion mill and medical research center using fetal remains for medical treatments and vaccines for Covid. Open every Church for Confessions, Mass and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Priests, bishops , cardinals must do this immediately before there is no chance for Confession and more souls lost. Trump is not our Saviour. Christ is. And, He is living. Bring that real presence to the streets. Only Christ and Our Lady can help us. And, our bishops, priests , cardinals have been asleep and the sheep are scattered. Go out and gather the lost sheep. There is no time to waste. We don't need Trump to save us! We need the Lord, present in the Blessed Sacrament to save us. Why does the Bishop promote a man Trump who saved his life by use of aborted fetuses? We are in a trap devised by Satan. The only power on earth to stop this is Our Lord and Our Lady. Pray the Rosary for the salvation of souls and for Bishops to start processions of Blessed Sacrament in the streets across the nation and processions of the faithful praying the Rosary in the streets across the nation. We are lost because Our Clergy is lost. Oh Shepherds! Many of you have betrayed our Lord and have not been obedient! Truly, the shepherds have been struck and the sheep are scattered! Return to the Faith, and show you believe it. Come out of hiding! Do you fear God or the State? How many souls are lost because you fear to manifest the truth that Our Lord is Risen. He is on earth in the Blessed Sacrament. Take courage and bring the risen Lord out of hiding! Go to the homes of your parishioners. Bring them the Sacraments of Confession. The Church must rise!
